Dorinda (Vitoria) Alves, 82, of Second St., Fall River, died Wednesday at the Kimwell Healthcare. She was the wife of Jose S. Alves.

Born in Ribeira Grande, St. Michael, Azores, a daughter of the late Jacinto and Hilda (Costa) Vitoria; she lived in Fall River for the past 43 years. She was a member of Santo Christo Church and its Holy Rosary Sodality. She did alot of volunteer work for St. Anne's Parish. Mrs. Alves had worked at TA’s Restaurant as a cook.

Besides her husband of 59 years, she is survived by a daughter, Irene M. DaPonte (Husband Jose) of Fall River; a son, Paul Alves (Wife Ida) of Fall River; a sister, Alodia Melo of Fall River; four grandchildren, Helen Soares, Monica DaPonte, Tanya Alves and Joey DaPonte; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Oscar Vitoria, Irene Loureiro and Mercedes Medeiros.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 8 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in Santo Christo Church. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Monday 5 – 8 p.m.
