Claire T. Machado

WESTPORT… Claire T. Machado, 88, of Westport passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center, in Providence, RI.

She was the widow of the late Mauricio Machado, to whom she had been married for 67 years.

Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Emile Machado and Irene (Marcott) Machado.

Claire was a devoted mother and caretaker to her family. She loved to serve others and enjoyed cooking, babysitting, and, most of all, spending time with her family.

Claire worked for most of her career at the former Duro Textiles, in Fall River, and then later worked in the home healthcare field. She was also a devout Catholic and communicant of Our Lady of Grace Church in Westport.

Survivors include her daughters: Paula Cambra (spouse Mark) and Cheryl Crofton (spouse Frank), both of Dartmouth, and Lisa Ellis (spouse Jamey), of Westport, her siblings: Emile Machado, Jr., of Florida, Irene Bernat, of Fall River, and Nancy Mello, of Swansea; 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Elaine Silvia.

A visitation will be held Friday, July 7, 2023 from 9-11 AM from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 South Main St. Fall River, followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at 11 AM.
