Adeline Pereira

NEW BEDFORD… Adeline (Cordeiro) Pereira, 93, of Division St., Fall River, died Wednesday, June 8th at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford. She was the wife of the late Edward V. Pereira.
Born in Fall River, MA, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Isabel (Rapoza) Cordeiro; she was a lifelong resident of this city and a communicant of Santo Christo Church. She was employed as an assembler for several years at the former Fall River Fireplace. Mrs. Pereira enjoyed bingo and dancing.
She is survived by two daughters, Donna Marie Slater of Swansea and Lori Ann Baptista and her husband James of Warren, RI; a son, David V. Pereira and his wife Marianne of Assonet; a sister, Josephine Cunha of Fall River; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Herminia Amaral, George Cordeiro, Ruth Brum, Manuel Cordeiro, Frederick Cordeiro, Joseph Cordeiro, John Cordeiro, Mary "Mamie" Costa and Mary Reis.
Her funeral will be held Monday at 8 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in Santo Christo Church. Committal prayers and interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Sunday 5-8 p.m. www.oliveirafuneralhomes.com
