Alice C. Da Ponte

Alice C. (Andrade) Da Ponte, 88, of Tiverton, passed away Saturday at St. Anne's Hospital. She was the wife of the late John Da Ponte.

Born in Tiverton, RI, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Anna Andrade; she was a lifelong resident of Tiverton.

Mrs. Da Ponte was homemaker and also had worked as a folder for the former Dan Moore Manufacturing for several years.

She was a member of Holy Ghost Church in Tiverton and a member of its Women's Guild. She also was a member of the Tiverton Senior Center.

She is survived by a daughter, Carol M. Durfee (husband Robert) of Fall River; 2 sons, William J. Da Ponte (wife Linda) of Tiverton and Gerald J. Da Ponte (wife Noreen) of Westport; 2 grandchildren, Jonathan and Jennifer Da Ponte; 3 great-grandchildren, Noah Da Ponte, Isla Da Ponte, London Lawrence and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Frank, Antone, Manuel Andrade and Lena Martins.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 South Main St., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Ghost Church. Interment in Pocasset Hill Cemetery. Calling hours Monday 4 - 8 p.m.
