Americo Moura

Americo Viveiros Moura, 76, of Fall River, passed away on June 29, 2026.

    He was the beloved husband of Angelina (Soares) Moura.

     Born in Faja de Baixo, St. Michael, Azores, he was the son of the late Jose Moura and Geraldina (Viveiros) Moura.

    Americo spent his career working as a machine operator for Quaker Fabrics. He also proudly served in the Portuguese military prior to coming to the United States. Outside of work, Americo had a variety of interests that kept him busy and brought him joy. He loved fishing and was an avid soccer fan. At home, he took great pride in meticulously caring for his grapevine. More than anything, he cherished the time he spent surrounded by his family, especially his beloved grandchildren.

    In addition to his wife, Angelina, he is survived by his four sons: Pedro Moura and his wife Sandra, Filipe Moura and his wife Christina, Andre Moura, and Bruno Moura and his wife Renee. He was the loving grandfather of nine grandchildren: Samantha, Alex, Dylan, Jordan, Nathan, Shaun, Prestyn, Lillyanne, and Madelyn; and the proud great-grandfather of two great-grandchildren: Luke and Milo. He also leaves behind his brothers, Jose Moura, Jorge Moura, Guilherme Moura; his sister, Isabel Simao; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his cherished daughter, the late Paula Moura, and his brother Duarte Moura.

    His visitation will be held Tuesday, July 7, 2026, from 8:00 - 9:30 AM from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia Street, Fall River.

    His Funeral Mass will follow at 10 AM, at Santo Christo Church. Interment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery.
