Andrea J. Souza

Andrea J. (Costa) Souza passed away Tuesday, July 19th at home from Leukemia. She was the daughter of the late Anne (Canole) Costa and Manuel P. Costa.
Born in Fall River, MA, she lived some time in Westfield, Mass. She was the wife of the late John Souza who passed away 10 yrs ago and who she loved deeply.
Surviving are two loving daughters, Kelly J. Souza of New Bedford and Kristin A. Souza of Fall River, her loving granddaughters, Kaylana Sousa, Kalli Sousa and Kingslee Sousa whom she loved more than anything. Also surviving are her sisters, Cheryl Haitas, Donna Costa, and Gayle Fouli of Springfield and her brother Gaery Costa of Springfield. She was the sister of the late Thomas, Frank, James and Daniel Costa; several nieces and nephews. She worked for the Fall River School Dept. for 27 years and was dedicated to the children. She wanted to let everyone she knew at the Fonseca School how she will miss all her friends especially Mrs. Ward the principal who was so kind and understanding when she had to leave work for appointments.
Calling hours for Mrs. Souza will be Sunday, July 24th from 4-8 p.m. at the Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 South Main St. Cremation to follow. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, August 13th at 9 a.m. in Blessed Trinity Parish in Fall River. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to Tufts Medical Center, 800 Washington St., Box #231, Boston, MA 02111 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
