Antonio L. Machado

Antonio L. Machado, 73, of Norton, MA; died Wednesday at home. He was the husband of Maria L. (Oliveira) Machado.

Born in Faja de Cima, St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Luis and Antonina de Jesus (Pereira) Machado, he emigrated to this country in 1962.

Mr. Machado worked as a foreman for over 40 years at Blueview Nurseries in Canton, now in Norton.

He was a member of Santo Christo Church.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Deborah Pereira (Husband John) of Norton and Fatima Melberg of Taunton; three sons, Louis Machado (Wife Mary L.) of Fall River, Joseph Machado (Wife Roberta) of Taunton and Edward Machado (Wife Deborah) of Westport, MA; sister, Lourdegardia Belchior of Berkley, MA; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late John Machado.

His funeral will be held Monday at 9 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St., Fall River, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Santo Christo Church. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours Sunday 4 - 8 p.m.
