Antonio M. "Tony" Santos

SWANSEA... Antonio "Tony" M. Santos, 72, of Swansea passed away at Tufts Medical Center on June 23rd. He was the loving husband of 48 years to Maria L. (Ferreira) Santos.
Born in Horta, Faial, Azores, he was a son of the late Joao Sousa Lima and Arminda do Santos, both from the Azores.
He was employed for 36 years at Horner Millwork in Somerset and Fall River before retiring in 2007.
Tony's first priority was his family and his daughters were his pride and joy. His second love was soccer. He was a fan of Sporting Lisbon Futebol and enjoyed long drives and walks on the beach with his wife and their two dogs, Daisy and Lucky.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughters: Evelyn Karpicz and her husband Tobey of Whitinsville, MA and Maria Santos and her partner Keith Mello of Swansea; a sister: Ilda Oliveira of Pico, Azores; many nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Alise, Maria, Basilina, Emilia, Joao, Manuel and Jose.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Thursday at 8:30 AM from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 S. Main St. Fall River, MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. John of God Parish, 996 Brayton Ave. Somerset, MA. Interment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 7 - 9 PM.
