FALL RIVER… Arsenio F. Pereira, 76, of Fall River passed away April 2, 2022 at home, surrounded by his family.
He was the loving husband of Maria Conceicao (Monte) Pereira, he would have celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary next month.
Born in St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Manuel Pereira and Diamantina Fernandes.
Arsenio was a very hard worker. He had a passion for buying, fixing, and selling houses (he enjoyed it very much). He also worked as a machine operator for many years at Swan Finishing, before retiring. He was a lifelong parishioner of Santo Christo Church. He loved gardening, tending to his grapevines, and making his own wine. But what was most important to Arsenio was his family that he loved dearly, especially his grandchildren. He adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren more than anything (they were his world).
Along with his wife of almost 50 years, survivors include his two children Nelson Pereira, of Fall River, and Nancy Oliveira (husband David), of Somerset; his brother Manuel Pereira (wife Ana), of Swansea; his two sisters Isabel Duarte (husband the late Gilbert), of Westport, and Helena Pereira, of Fall River; his grandchildren Timothy Pereira, Alexis Craveiro, Nathan, Briella and Noah Oliveira; his great grandchildren Audrianna, Sophia, Adrienne, and Preston; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, April 6, from 8:30 – 10:30 AM, from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St., Fall River, MA 02721. A funeral mass will be held, following the calling hours, at 11AM at Santo Christo Church, Columbia St., Fall River. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
