Arthur Pereira, Jr.

Arthur Pereira, Jr., 50, of Shirley Ave., Somerset, MA, died Saturday at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Pamela (LaHaie) Pereira.

Born in Fall River, MA, he was a son of the late Arthur and Idalina (Cordeiro) Pereira; he lived in Somerset for the past 20 years.

Mr. Pereira formerly worked as a truck driver for Quality Concrete. He previously worked for Humphrey Oil Co. and Mathieu Oil Co.

He was a former member of the King Philip Boat House. He enjoyed restoring cars.

Besides his wife of 29 years, he is survived by a daughter, Tonya Duquette of Fall River; two sons, Arthur Pereira, III and David Pereira, both of Somerset; a sister, Carol Sousa of Warwick, RI; three grandchildren, Kelsey, Jordan and Mackenzie; two nieces and a nephew.

His funeral will be held Thursday at 8 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in Santo Christo Church. Cremation to follow. Calling hours Wednesday 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the family would greatly be appreciated.
