Bruce L. Vierling, 70, of Tiverton, passed away Wednesday at home. He was the husband of Jacqueline (Souza) Vierling.

Born in Newport, RI, a son of the late Lee and Lillian (Paradise) Vierling; he resided in Tiverton for the past 41 years.

He last worked at Lasalette Shrine as a maintenance man. Prior to that, he was employed by General Motors as an assembler and later as a quality control person until its closing.

He enjoyed yard work, gardening and trips to the casino. He also enjoyed his visits to Dennisport twice a year.

He was a member of St. Theresa Church in Tiverton.

Besides his wife of 50 years, he is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Silvia of Fall River; a brother, James Vierling of FL; a granddaughter, Amanda Vierling, 2 great-grandchildren, Kylee Furtado and Madison Assad and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Betty Ann Raymondo.

His funeral will be held on Monday at 8:45 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home 2064 South Main St. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Visitation morning of funeral 8:15 - 9:15 a.m.
