Charles C. Pereira

SOMERSET - Charles C. Pereira, 99, of Fall River, died Friday, April 28th at Clifton Rehabilitative Nursing Center in Somerset. He was the husband of the late Hilda (Mendonca) Pereira.
Born in Fall River, MA, he was a son of the late Carlos Cabral Pereira and Maria (Pacheco) Pereira; he lived in Fall River for most of his life. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran, serving during WW II. Mr. Pereira worked for over 30 years as an injection molder at Hercules Powder Co. in Taunton. He was a communicant of Santo Christo Church.
He is survived by a son, Leslie Pereira and his wife Maria of Little Compton, RI; a daughter-in-law, Lois Pereira of Assonet, MA; a sister, Lillian D'Oliveira of Fall River; three grandchildren, Michael Pereira, Alyson Pereira and Tara Bemis; two great-grandchildren, Emma Bemis and Jack Bemis; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Kevin Pereira and the brother of the late Antone Pereira, Albert Pereira, Elvira Pereira, Alice Bouchard, Juliette Sutcliffe and Evelyn Machado.
His funeral will be held Thursday, May 4th at 8 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia Street, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in Santo Christo Church, Columbia Street. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery, Stafford Road. Calling hours Wednesday 5-7 p.m.
