Constance Silva

Constance “Connie”  Silva, 94,  of Tiverton RI, passed away on her birthday Monday, February 5, 2024, at Dawn Hill Nursing Home where she resided for the past 4 years. 

    Born in Tiverton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph B. Silva and Emelia (Constance) Silva.

    Prior to retiring, Connie worked for many years as a dietary aide at Catholic Memorial Home and enjoyed traveling and spending time with her friends and family. Her religion was very important in her life and she was a very active parishioner of Holy Ghost Church and a Third Order Carmelite. Connie was a very giving woman and spent many years devoting her time to the Fall River Community Soup Kitchen and St. Vincent’s Home in Fall River. She was also a member of the Tiverton Senior Center. 

    Survivors include her cousins Sue Ann Constance, of Tiverton RI, David Constance of Harwich MA, and several other cousins including her godchild, Katherine (Constance) Angley of Plymouth, MA. She is also survived by Lydia Souza, Fall River, MA who was a teenager when she first met Constance at Catholic Memorial Home and became a great friend and family member.

    Her funeral will be held Monday, February 12, 2024, at 9 AM from the Oliveira Funeral Home - South Main St. Chapel, 2064 South Main Street, Fall River, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Holy Ghost Church, Tiverton. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Sunday February 11th from 2 – 4 PM at 2064 South Main Street, Fall River.
