Daniel C. Powell

Daniel Clinton Powell, age 79, of Warren, Rhode Island, peacefully passed away on April 1, 2026, in the comfort of his home with his family by his side.

    Born in Warren, Rhode Island, he was the son of Charles Powell of Somerset, MA, and the late Constance Powell. He was the devoted husband of the late Leslie (Delekta) Powell.

    Daniel proudly served his country and was a veteran of the United States Air Force Intelligence.

    After his military service, he went on to serve with East Providence Fire Department Fire and Rescue. He also excelled at software design and computer programming.

    He was an avid member of the flight simulator community where he both flew and performed air traffic control.

    Daniel loved his family and enjoyed traveling across the country and to many Caribbean islands. He was a member of the Warren Portuguese American Club and was a great pool player.

    Daniel loved sports; he was a New England Patriots fan and played football for Warren High School. He also enjoyed playing basketball at Burr’s Hill when he was young.

    Daniel is survived by his son Jason and wife Debra Powell of Fall River, MA, and son Charlie and wife Sasha Powell of Warwick, Rhode Island, and daughter Amy Powell of Sharpsburg, Georgia. He also leaves behind his stepdaughter Elizabeth Bassett and partner Stephen Babbin, stepson Scott LaRoche, five grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

    A private service will be held at a later date.
