David A. Lema

David A. Lema, 83, of Portsmouth, RI, passed away on November 10, 2025, at Charlton Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his family.

    He was the beloved husband of Maureen (Silvia) Lema, to whom he had been married for 35 years.

    Born in Fall River, on December 19, 1941, he was the son of the late Antone Lima and Violet Lima.

    David attended Rogers High School and was a proud veteran of the U.S. Airforce, serving from 1958-1962. He retired after a long career in auto sales. In his free time, he enjoyed his favorite pastimes: gardening, fishing, and taking trips to the casino.

    Along with his wife, David is survived by his children, Elizabeth Lema, Melissa Lema, David Lema, and Robert Pacheco (wife Tanya); his grandchildren, Brittany Denis (husband Greg), Richard McCauley, and Lily Pacheco; two sisters and three brothers; several nieces and nephews. He was Predeceased by his parents and his in-laws, Joseph and Alina Silvia.

    Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 16, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia Street, Fall River, MA 02721.

    His funeral will be held on Monday, November 17, beginning at 9:00 AM at the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at Santo Christo Church. Interment will take place at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River.
