Deolinda Vorce

Deolinda Espirito Santo (DaPonte) Vorce, 57, of Tiverton, passed away on July 13, 2026.

    She was the beloved spouse of Edward Vorce.

    Deolinda was born in Ribeira Grande, St. Michael, Azores, Portugal, and was the cherished daughter of Constantino DaPonte and Maria do Rosario (Correia) DaPonte.

    A dedicated and compassionate professional, Deolinda earned her bachelor's degree and served as a nursing manager in the Wound Care Center of Tobey Hospital. Since beginning her nursing career in 2007, she touched countless lives working across the ICU, Endoscopy, and Wound Care Centers at Charlton Memorial Hospital, St. Luke’s Hospital, and Tobey Hospital. She also served on the Charlton Memorial Hospital skin committee.

    Beyond her career, she was an avid runner who participated in races for various causes, including the Southcoast Cancer Care Nicole Podkowa 5k, Colt State Park 5k, and the Cherry Blossom 10 Miler in Washington, D.C. Deolinda loved camping, traveling, and spending precious time with her family. She took great joy in tending to her chickens, was an avid reader, and especially loved watching movies, with a particular fondness for Christmas and Hallmark films.

    She is survived by her loving husband, Edward Vorce; her devoted children, Matthew Vorce and Maiah Vorce; her siblings, Maria Fatima Andrade and her husband Greg, Natalie Maria Alves and her late husband Andrew Alves, William DaPonte and his wife Aida, and Joseph DaPonte and his wife Lisa; as well as many nieces and nephews.

    Her visitation will be held on Friday, July 17th, from 4 - 7 PM at Oliveira Funeral Home, South Main Street Chapel, 2064 South Main Street, Fall River.

    Her funeral will be held on Saturday, July 18th, at 9:00 AM from the funeral home, followed by prayers at 10:00 AM in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Pocasset Hill Cemetery, Tiverton.
