Dolores (Mendonca) Lancia, 83, of Bay St., Fall River, a retired garment worker, died Sunday at Crawford Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of Frank E. Lancia and the former wife of the late Edward P. Souza, Sr.
Born in Fall River, MA, she was a daughter of the late John M. and Maria P. (Torres) Mendonca; she was a lifelong resident of Fall River. Mrs. Lancia worked as a sewing machine operator for many years in the local garment industry. After retiring, she worked part-time as a for the Fall River Public Schools as a lunch lady at the Osborn School. She loved her family and was a caring person.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Johann M. Replogle (husband Robert) of Tiverton, RI; two sons, Edward P. Souza, Jr. (wife Gail) of Tiverton, RI and Jonathan Souza of Fall River; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late John Mendonca, Jr. and George Mendonca.
Her funeral will be held Thursday at 8 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 South Main Street, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in Good Shepherd Parish. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Wednesday 5-7 p.m.
