Donald W. "Bill" Dupere

January 6, 1934 — April 12, 2017

TIVERTON - Donald "Bill" William Dupere, age 83, of Tiverton, formerly of Westport, passed away on April 12th and was reunited with his beloved wife Pauline of 62 years.
Born in Fall River, he was the son the late Theresa Tessier and Leo Dupere. Bill was a United States Army veteran who served during the Korean War. Before retiring in 2000, he was employed by the Newport Naval Base for 35 years. He enjoyed playing softball for 45 years, fast pitch for 25 years for the PA Club and Rondo's and slow pitch for 20 years for the Ponte Club and A.P.C. and was inducted into the Fall River Men's Softball league Hall of Fame in 1967 and the Tiverton Men's Softball League Hall of Fame in 1981.
He will be deeply missed by his son Brian and his wife Shirleanne Dupere of Tiverton; his daughter Debra and her husband Thomas Harney, Jr. of Fall River and his sister Maureen Garrett of Michigan. He was the loving grandfather of Jennifer Harney, Kate Dupere and Bryan Dupere. Bill was also the brother of the late Russell Dupere.
His funeral will be held Tuesday, April 18th at 9 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 South Main Street, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Ghost Church, Judson Street, Tiverton.
