FALL RIVER… Donat E. Dumont "Don", 84, of Tiverton, RI loving father and grandfather died on April 1, 2014 after a long battle with emphysema.

Born in N. Attleboro, MA, a son of the late Alexander and Alice (Bosquet) Dumont. He was self employed and had a long career in real estate. He was the husband of the late Helen (Souza) Dumont also self employed, owner and operator of the Gold Room Beauty Salon in Fall River, MA. After his wife's passing in 1986, Don continued to operate the Gold Room until its recent closing this year after 47 years in business.

Don enjoyed cooking and being with his family and friends. He had an extraordinary talent to repair just about anything. He was a member of St. Anne's Fraternity. He found joy in watching his new grandson Patrick and loved to make him laugh and smile. He was a devoted father and friend to his only daughter Christine. His loving guidance, support, and companionship to her will be dearly missed.

In addition to his daughter and grandson he leaves behind a son-in-law Dennis Sullivan of Newport, a brother Charles of N. Attleboro, and 4 nieces. He is predeceased by his sister Alice Joyce and Brother Eugene. In lieu of flowers please choose to make a contribution to Don's favorite charity, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or a charity of your choice in his memory and as a reminder to help those more in need than ourselves.
