Donna Lee (Rodgers, Davies) Leary, born June 27, 1964, passed away peacefully in hospice care, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous lifelong battle with illness, most recently cancer. Throughout her journey, Donna faced unimaginable challenges with extraordinary strength and determination, demonstrating remarkable courage in the face of adversity.
Donna’s greatest joy in life was being a mother to her sons, Jason, who preceded her in death, and Brandon. Her heart overflowed with love for her role as “Nana” to her two precious grandchildren, Jason and Beau, who were the light of her life. She treasured every moment spent with them, particularly the special sleepovers with Jason that created cherished memories for them both.
She was the beloved daughter of the late Maureen Rodgers Danforth of Pembroke and Bob Rodgers and his wife Ginnie of Palm Coast, Florida. Donna is survived by her devoted son Brandon Davies and his wife Michele of Marion; her grandchildren Jason and Beau; her sister and best friend Lynda McSherry of Port St. Lucie, Florida; her brother Bobby Rodgers of Hull; her niece Megan Dray and her husband Sean, along with their children Landon and Delaney.
Beyond her loving family including her many cousins, Donna was blessed with remarkable friends who stood by her side with unwavering love and support throughout her life. In her final months where she so bravely endured all of the pain, Southcoast Hospice cared for her with incredible compassion.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph’s of Fairhaven on Friday December 26. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Southcoast Hospice.
