Doris M. Oliveira

Doris (Mello) Oliveira, age 70, of Fall River, Massachusetts, passed away on September 28, 2026.

    Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, she was thedaughter of Armanda (Medeiros) Mello and the late Fernando L. Mello.

    Doris dedicated much of her life to education, working primarily as an English teacher at Durfee High School. She also served her community as a licensed Massachusetts and Rhode Island funeral director, working for Connors and Hambly Funeral Home in Rhode Island. In her free time, she was an avid reader.

    She is survived by her mother, Armanda; her brother, Frank Mello; and her niece, Amanda Lee Mello. She was preceded in death by her father, Fernando, and her brother, Carl Mello.

    Her visitation will be held on Friday, October 2, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM at Oliveira Funeral Home, South Main Street Chapel, 2064 South Main Street, Fall River, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Holy Trinity Church. Interment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
