Edmund D. Furtado

Edmund D. Furtado, 87, of Fall River, died Friday at home. He was the husband of Maria "Mary" (Medeiros) Furtado.

Born in Tiverton, RI, he was a son of the late Daniel and Clementina (Rego) Furtado; he lived in Fall River for most of his life and was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during WW II. Mr. Furtado worked for many years as director for housekeeping for an area hospital group.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Anna Furtado of California. He was the father of the late Leonard "Clutch" Furtado and the brother of the late George Furtado.

His funeral will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. from the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 215 Columbia St., followed by a Graveside Service at 11 a.m. in Newport Memorial Park, Howland Ave., Middletown. Visitation 9:30-10 a.m. morning of funeral.
