Edward Nunes

Edward Nunes, 83, of Fall River, formerly of Somerset, died Tuesday at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the late Adeline (Macedo) Nunes.

Born in Fall River, MA, a son of the late Antonio and Teolinda (Bello) Nunes; he resided in Somerset for most of his life.

Mr. Nunes worked as a weaver for Joan Fabrics for many years, retiring in 1993.

He was a member of St. John of God Church. He enjoyed playing bingo, trips to Foxwoods and vacationing to the island of Madeira.

He is survived by a daughter, Donna Freitas (Husband Feliciano) of Fall River; a son, Jeffrey Edward Nunes (Wife Donna) of Somerset; a brother, Manuel Nunes of Fall River; two sisters, Bella Henriques and Ida Duarte, both of Somerset; two grandsons; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Mary Mello and Antone Nunes.

His funeral will be held Monday at 7:45 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in St. John of God Church, Somerset. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Sunday 4 - 8 p.m.
