Emily Apolinario

Emily (Mello) Apolinario, 99, of Fall River, passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at St. Ann’s Hospital in Fall River.

    She was the widow of the late Manuel “Manny Apples” Apolinario.

    Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Mello and Leontina (Amber) Mello.

    Mrs. Apolinario worked as a sales clerk for over 23 years at the former Edgar’s Department Store. Later, she worked at the UMass Campus Store for 8 years before retiring. Emily loved animals and cherished spending time with her friends and family.

    Mrs. Apolinario is survived by her son, Craig T. Apolinario of New Bedford. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Brianne, who was her pride and joy, and her two great grandchildren, Boston and Brooklyn. She is also survived by her nieces, Jacqueline Enos, Linda Francoeur, and Sheila Beausaleil. She was predeceased by her son, Brian S. Apolinario, and her siblings, Amos Mello, Joseph Mello Jr., Jackquim Mello, Agnes Barboza, and Angelina M. Swass.

    In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Forever Paws Animal Shelter, Faxon Animal Rescue League, or Hope Hospice.

    Her burial in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery will be private.
