Etelvina Silva

Etelvina (Carvalho) Silva, 83, formerly of Mulberry St., Fall River, a retired garment weorker, died Saturday. She was the wife of the late Manuel F. Silva.

Born in Mosteiros, St. Michael, she was a daughter of the late Manuel and Mariana "Santinha" (Pavao) Carvalho; she lived in Fall River for the past 48 years and was a member of Santo Christo Church. Mrs. Silva worked as a machine operator for many years in the local garment industry.

She is survived by a son, Carlos Alberto Silva (wife M. Sameira Silva) of Westport; two granddaughters, Andrea and Karina Silva; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Manuel Carvalho, Constantino Carvalho, Maria Ferreira and Liduina Pinto.

Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 8 a.m. from the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 215 Columbia St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in Santo Christo Church. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Tuesday 5-9 p.m.
