Fernando M. Machado, 75, of Fall River, passed away April 3, 2024, at St. Anne’s Hospital, in Fall River.
He was the widower of the late Maria Lourdes (Da Silva) Machado.
Born in St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Laurenio Machado and Maria Jose Machado. Fernando was a veteran of the Portuguese Army and served in the Angolan War.
Prior to retirement, Fernando worked for most of his career at Gold Medal Bakery. He was an avid fan of Porto FC. He enjoyed having his “Bazookas” and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his son Robert Machado and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother and a sister.
His funeral will be held Monday, April 8, 2024, at 8:00 AM from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St., Fall River, followed by a service in the funeral home at 9:00 AM. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be held Sunday, from 4 – 8 PM.
