Gilberto S. Martins, 70, of Mulberry St., Fall River, a retired machine operator, died Sunday at home. He was the husband of Ana Maria (Medeiros) Matins.
Born in Capelas, St. Michael, Azores, a son of the late Manuel and Rosa (de Sousa) Martins; he emigrated to this country in the late 60's and was a member of Santo Christo Church. Mr. Martins worked at Plymouth Rubber for 35 years.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Ana Cantelmo (husband Paul) of Fall River, two sons, Carlos M. Martins (wife Michelle) and Robert Martins (wife Shanna), both of Fall River; a sister, Maria da Conceicao Chaves of St. Michael, Azores, a brother, Antonio Martins of Fall River; a granddaughter, Bianca Martins; and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held Saturday at 8:45 a.m. from the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 215 Columbia St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:45 a.m. in Santo Christo Church. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Calling hours Friday 4-8 p.m.
