Gualberto Carreiro Paiva

Gualberto C. Paiva, 73, of Fall River, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at home on October 12, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

     He was the beloved husband of Maria H. Paiva, with whom he shared 47 years of marriage.

     Born in Furnas, Sao Miguel, he was the son of the late Antonio DeSousa DePaiva and Maria C. Sousa (still living). He immigrated to the United States and spent his career working in the wire manufacturing industry. In his leisure time, Gualberto loved spending time with his family, gardening, and watching soccer (Particularly Benfica). Gualberto was also a long time devoted member of the former Academica Club where he forged great friendships over the years.

    In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two children, Nelson Paiva, Allyssa Paiva and her partner Joshua Farias. He was preceded in death by his Sister; he also leaves behind a brother, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews.

    Funeral services will be private.
