Gualter M. Carvalho

Gualter M. Carvalho, 76, of Fall River, passed away Wednesday at St. Anne's Hospital. He was the husband of Venilde (Castro) Carvalho.
Born in Feteiras do Sul, St. Michael, Azores, a son of the late Manuel da Costa Carvalho and Maria da Gloria (Costa) Carvalho; he lived in Fall River for many years. He was a communicant of Santo Christo Church.
He was employed as a machine operator for 33 years at Duro Finishing Corp., retiring in 2004. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, soccer with his favorite team Benfica and spending time with family.
Survivors include his widow, two daughters: Anna Hattub and her husband Andrew of Somerset and Hilda Moniz and her husband Noel of Fall River; two sons, Valter Carvalho and his wife Paula and Michael Carvalho and his wife Angela, both of Fall River, two sisters: Ines Soares of North Providence and Filomena Neves of Shelton, CT; two brothers, Lucindo Carvalho and Eduardo Carvalho, both of North Providence; 13 Grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Humberto Carvalho.
His funeral will be held Saturday at 8:45 AM from the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 215 Columbia Street, Fall River, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:45 AM in Santo Christo Church, Columbia Street, Fall River. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be Friday from 5 - 8 PM.
