Henrique S. Furtado

Henrique S. "Henry" Furtado, 84, of Columbia St., Fall River, died Sunday at St. Anne's Hospital in Fall River. He was the longtime companion of Pauline Rodrigues of Fall River.
Born in Faial, Azores, he was a son of the late Francisco S. and Maria da Gloria (de Sousa) Furtado; he lived in Fall River since 1953 and was a member of Santo Christo Church.
Mr. Furtado retired from Lightolier Mfg., formerly Aluminum Processing. He previously worked as a foreman for various contractors in the construction industry. He was a member of the Liberal Club and Academica Sports Club.
Besides his loving companion, he is survived by three sisters, Fatima Maciel of Fall River, Alice Rossi of Somerset, MA and Marie Fernanda Hackett of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; two aunts; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Adeline Pereira and Alberto Furtado.
His funeral will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St., Fall River, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Santo Christo Church. Entombment in Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum.
