Hilda S. Mendonca

Hilda S. Mendonca, 91, wife of the late Manuel P. Mendonca, passed away December 10, 2010 in Port Orange, FL.

Born in Fall River, MA, she was a daughter of the late Joao Pimentel and Maria dos Anjos Tavares; she was a former resident of this city before moving to FL. She was a member of Espirito Santo Church and its Holy Rosary Sodality.

Mrs. Mendonca was a sewing machine operator for many years at the former Shelburne Shirt Mfg.

She is survived by a daughter, Anna Smyth of Port Orange, FL; a granddaughter, Colleen Smyth of Frederick, MD; a grandson, Stephen Smyth of Daytona Beach, FL; two great-grandsons, Jake and Sean Smyth of Daytona Beach, FL; four sisters, Fernanda Pimentel, Ana Tavares and Maria do Carmo Medeiros, all of Fall River and Natalie Turner of Tampa, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held Saturday at 8:30 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 South Main St., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Espirito Santo Church. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery.
