Irene Boler

Irene “Rita” (Duchesne) Boler, 83, of Swansea, formerly of Fall River, passed away Saturday, December 16th, 2023, at home, surrounded by her family.

She was the wife of Warren A. Boler.

Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Leo Duchesne and Mary (Borges) Duchesne.

Prior to retiring, Irene worked for most of her career as a sewing machine operator in the local garment industry. She loved playing bingo and card, sewing, and, most of all, spending time with her family.

Along with her husband, survivors include her children George Carvalho, of Virginia, and William Crowley, Jr. (wife Melanie), of Swansea; her siblings Joseph Duchesne, of New Hampshire, and Diane Medeiros, of Tiverton; her grandchildren Kerri Dirocco, Joy Cabral, Kimberly Alfonso, Shainna Barber, William Crowley, III, Shelbi Crowley, Megan Fitzgerald, and Jonathan Crowley; several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was the mother of the late Derek Boler and Anthony Carvalho, the sister of the late Robert Duchesne and Rose Ferreira, and grandmother of the late Sara Carvalho.

A visitation will be held Thursday, December 21, 2023, at the Oliveira Funeral Home - South Main St. Chapel, 2064 South Main St., from 3 - 6 PM.
