Irene Marie Grota

TIVERTON… Irene M. Grota, 79, of Tiverton passed away at home Wednesday.

She was born in Tiverton a daughter of the late Joaquin M. and Honorina (Bento) Grota and had been a lifelong resident of Tiverton.

Ms. Grota was a Special Education Teacher for Mt. Hope High School (now called Bristol Warren Regional High School).

She was a communicant of Holy Ghost Church in Tiverton.

Ms. Grota graduated from Salve Regina College and was a member of the National Educators Association of Rhode Island, Rhode Island Retired Teachers Association. She enjoyed collecting stamps, coins, dolls, and doing jigsaw puzzles.

Survivors include a brother Lawrence J. Grota and his wife Mary of Tiverton, a sister Marie Paquin and her husband Leo of Tiverton, sisters-in-law: Betty, Ann Marie, and Ann Marie, several nieces and nephews.
