James M. Silvia

FALL RIVER…. James M. “Big Jim” Silvia, 64, of Fall River passed away February 27, 2019 at his home.
He was the husband of Charlene A. (Costa) Silvia to whom he had been married for 45 years.
Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late John and Georgina (Teves) Silvia.
Mr. Silvia was the owner and operator of New England Piping and Welding Company of Fall River and was a member of the Fall River Lodge of Elks, New Bedford Rod & Gun Club, the Somerset/Swansea Kiwanis Club, the National Rifle Association and many other local organizations. He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, hunting and fishing, traveling, working in his trade, but above all, Jim loved spending time with his wife and family and attending his grandsons’ baseball games.
Along with his wife, survivors include his sons: Justin J. Silvia and his wife Michelle of Fall River and Adam Silvia and his partner David Reynolds of Fall River; his grandsons: Matthew and Joseph Silvia; his sister: Pauline Bourgeois of Rochester; his brother: Alfred Silvia of NM; several nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at 7 PM at Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 South Main St. Fall River, MA 02724. Memorial Visitation will take place from 4 – 7 PM, prior to the service.
