Jeanne E. (Mathieu) Messier passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026, at the age of 88.
She was born on August 18, 1937, to the late Charles A. Mathieu and Anita L. (Picard) Mathieu in Fall River, MA. After graduating from Dominican Academy, Jeanne worked for several private and governmental agencies as a Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant during her long career.
She was married to the late Robert F. Messier, a World War II Army Veteran, sharing many wonderful years together. Jeanne Messier was an active member of the Master Builder Ministries in Fall River and found great peace and fulfillment as a participant in the Church’s activities.
Jeanne had many friends and was known for her positive and upbeat personality. She is survived by her daughter, Susan J Gregory; her sister, Paulette Brooks; her brother, Charles R. Mathieu of Leominster, MA and his wife, Elaine (Kaminski) Mathieu; her granddaughter, Melanie MacDonald and fiancé Donnell Burton of Fall River. Also, her two great granddaughters, Hayley Durand and her fiancé, John Conley of Plymouth, MA and Brooklyn Harrison of Fall River. In addition, Lee Brooks of Florida, Anita Smith and her husband Josh also of Florida, Joy Severance and her husband Ray from Middleboro MA, Christina (Mathieu) Seifert and her husband Donald of MA, Renelle Dupont and her husband Noel of Illinois, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 26th, 2026 from 4 to 8 PM at the Oliveira Funeral Home - South Main Street Chapel, 2064 South Main Street in Fall River, with a funeral service taking place at 7 PM during the visitation.
Her funeral will be held Friday, March 27th, 2026 at 9 AM at the funeral home, followed by interment at Notre Dame Cemetery.
A Memorial Service will be determined later.
