Joan (Martin) Coelho, 72, of Tiverton, passed away March 26th, 2024, at home, surrounded by her family.
She was the widow of the late Arthur R. Coelho, Jr.
Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Manuel B. Martin and Anna (Souza) Martin.
Prior to retiring, Joan spent most of her career as the President of Cut Outs, Inc., in Fall River, and designed clothing for several major retailers. She also worked prior as a legal secretary for several years. In her free time, Joan enjoyed being a vendor at several local flea markets, running New Beginnings at the Tiverton Flea Market for 12 years. She was also a deeply religious woman, and was a parishioner of St. Theresa’s Church, in Tiverton, where she was also a member of the choir and a catechism teacher. Joan was always a good ear to talk to and cherished spending time with her family and friends.
Joan is survived by her son Matin Coelho; her siblings Robert Martin (spouse Gabby), Ronald Martin, Cathleen Kishfrey, and RoseMary Almeida (spouse Albert); her granddaughter Katherine Desrosiers; her great grandson Anthony Burgos Rojas, Jr.; several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Timothy S. Coelho and sister of the late Anne Chippanelli and Manuel Martin, Jr.
Her funeral mass will be held Saturday, April 13th at 10AM at St. Theresa's Church, Stafford Rd, Tiverton, followed by burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Please meet directly at church.
