Joanne Larrivee

Larrivee, Joanne, 83, of Fall River, MA, passed away on June 2, 2024. Joanne was born on November 22, 1940, in Malden, Massachusetts, and was proud to call Boston her home for the majority of her life, including where she raised her three sons. She was a 1958 graduate of the Rice School in Boston, MA. A kind and compassionate person, Joanne devoted her life to the service of others.

    Joanne was the daughter of the late John and Gertrude McCall. Sister of the late Marjorie DaSuta and the late Jack McCall. Loving Mother of the late Scott, Paul, and Mark Dube. Adored Nana to her grandchildren, Krystal, Eric, Ryan and Maxwell Dube. Beloved “Yaya” to her great-granddaughter, Olive Dube-Gaspar. Auntie of Stephen, Dean, Jason, and the late Craig DaSuta, as well as Donna Wentworth-Reed, Patricia Smith, Karen Sergi, and Michael McCall. Great-Auntie to several great-nieces and great-nephews. 

    Joanne had a genuine love for others, and her kindness and generosity overflowed towards those around her. Guided by her strong faith, Joanne was thoughtful and considered it a special mission to encourage everyone she met. She loved purchasing gifts to express her appreciation, including angel pins that she would present along with a special message to each recipient. She was always happiest when she was able to put a smile on other people’s faces. Joanne diligently took pictures of special moments and treasured her photographs, carefully writing out dates and notes on the back of the developed photos. Most of all, Joanne loved her children and her family deeply. She adored spending time with them and making memories that would be cherished in this life and the next. 

    A funeral service to celebrate the life of Joanne will be held at Forest Hills Covenant Church, 455 Arborway, Jamaica Plain, MA, on Saturday, June 22nd, at 11:00 AM, with interment to follow thereafter at the Gardens of Gethsemane Cemetery, 670 Baker Street, West Roxbury, MA, and ending with a luncheon back at Forest Hills Covenant Church. The family appreciates all who come to celebrate her life. All are welcome.
