Joao Brum

Joao Brum, 72, of William St., passed away Thursday at St. Anne's Hospital. He was the husband of Valdomira (Oliveira) Brum.

Born in Lagoa, St. Michael, Azores; he was a son of the late Francisco and Marcelina Brum; he resided in Fall River for the past 46 years and was a member of Santo Christo Church. Mr. Brum worked as a finish carpenter for many years. He enjoyed fishing and metal detecting.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Nelson Brum (Wife Kimberly) of Fall River; three sisters, Maria de Jesus Oliveira of Canada, Stella Galego of Fall River and Artemisa Justa of Swansea; a brother, Alfred Brum of Fall River; two granddaughters, Marissa K. Brum and Holly N. Brum; and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves his dog Charlie and recently lost his other dog Daisy.

His funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. from the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 2064 South Main St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Santo Christo Church. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Monday 5 - 8 p.m.
