Joao M. Salsinha

Joao M. Salsinha, 80, of Tiverton, passed away on Friday, July 25, 2025, at Saint Anne's Hospital in Fall River, surrounded by his family.

    He was the widower of the late Maria dos Anjos (Moreira) Salsinha.

    Born in Furnas, São Miguel, Azores, he was the son of the late Antonio Salsinha and the late Maria Conceição (Oliveira) Salsinha.

    Joao worked as an operator at the former Swan Finishing for over 30 years. He was a hard worker who enjoyed spending time with his family. Known for his humor, he was also a very faithful and deeply religious parishioner of Santo Christo Church.

    He is survived by his daughter, Annabella Moniz, and her husband John Moniz; his grandson, Jonathan Moniz; his great-grandson, Isaiah John Moniz; and his brother, Eduardo Salsinha. He was predeceased by his siblings, Manuel, Jose, Antone, and Carlos Salsinha.

    A visitation will be held Tuesday, July 29th, from 4 to 8 PM at the Oliveira Funeral Home at 215 Columbia Street in Fall River.

    His funeral will be held Wednesday, July 30th, at 9:00 AM at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Santo Christo Church. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
