John "Fox Trot" Cambra, 70, of Tiverton, RI, died Wednesday at St. Anne's Hospital. He was the husband of Junya (Phung Boon) Cambra.
Born in Fall River, MA, he was a son of the late Manuel and Hortense (Farias) Cambra; he lived in Tiverton since 1971. He was a graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam Era. Mr. Cambra worked as a truck driver for many years at Frito Lay Co. in CT. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother to his sister.
Mr. Cambra enjoyed racing pigeons and was a member of the Fall River Pigeon Club and a member of the Holy Ghost Club in Tiverton. He enjoyed golfing, local politics and was a fan of the New England Patriots.
Besides his wife of 43 years, he is survived by a daughter, Tanya Cambra and her companion Ray Pires of Tiverton; a son, John Cambra, II of Tiverton; a sister, Maria Lima of Tiverton; six grandchildren, and a great-grandson.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Monday at 10 a.m. in the Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 South Main St. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery.
