John L. Furtado

WESTPORT… John L. Furtado, 44, of Westport passed away November 13, 2016 at Rhode Island Hospital following a motor vehicle accident.
He was the husband of Odilia F. (Furtado) Furtado to whom he was married for 25 years.
Born in St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of Lucy (Furtado) Furtado of Fall River and the late Joao Furtado.
Mr. Furtado was employed as a Foreman with P. Gioioso & Sons General Contracting of Hyde Park, MA. He enjoyed working in his yard and spending time with his family.
Along with his wife and mother, survivors include his daughters, Kendra & Brianna Furtado, both of Westport, his son, Kevin Furtado of Westport, his sister, Nelia Williams of Westport, his brother, Mark Furtado of Fall River, several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles & cousins.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Friday at 8 AM from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St. Fall River followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 AM at Santo Christo Church, Columbia St. Fall River. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 5 - 8 PM. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
