John Peter Pacheco, 69 years old, of Pine Street Somerset, formerly of 49 Harbor Road, Swansea, left this earth Saturday after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Born on September 8th, 1952 in Agua de Pau, St. Michael, Azores, he was the only child of Joao L. Pacheco and Maria Julieta (Da Costa) Pacheco. He lived in Swansea for over 30 years, raised his family, and recently relocated to Somerset in 2018.
He was devoted to his family and his cherished work as an independent distributor for H.P. Hood, for over 40 years. Over the years, he was the recipient of many awards for outstanding salesmanship and profitability, which allowed him to provide his family with a beautiful life. After retiring, he worked part time at the Swansea Walmart where he made many friends, as he always enjoyed socializing through his professional life. He was an outstanding home chef and enjoyed cooking as much as he did eating. An avid gambler and often winner, he spent his last days scratching as many scratch tickets as he could get his hands on. A diehard New England sports fan, always routing for the home team. He loved competition and enjoyed watching all sports. He also enjoyed watching the daily news and was quick to share his opinion. He was a simple soul of complex character.
He is survived by five children, three daughters and two sons. Raquel A. Pacheco and her husband, J.T. Hoar, of Fall River, MA. Crystall J.(Pacheco) Jeronimo and her husband, Thomas Jeronimo, of Somerset, MA. John P. Pacheco Jr. and his husband, Nicholas Brindisi, of Philadelphia, PA. Christopher M.
