Jose Francisco S. Carvalho

FALL RIVER - Jose Francisco S. Carvalho, 67, of Fall River, a retired machine operator, died Thursday, September 21st at home unexpectedly. He was the husband of Normanda (Miguel) Carvalho. Born in Capelas, St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Augustinho and Maria do Carmo (Sousa) Carvalho; he lived in Fall River since 1966. Mr. Carvalho worked as a machine operator for many years at the former Quaker Fabric. He was a member of Santo Christo Church. He was a member of Our Lady of Light Club. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Jason Carvalho and Brian Carvalho, both of Fall River; a sister, Fatima Silva of Somerset; two brothers, Joao Carvalho of Swansea and Louis Carvalho of Somerset; a grandson, Jason Joseph Carvalho; and several nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Maria Oliveira. His funeral will be held Tuesday, September 26th at 8 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St., Fall River, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in Santo Christo Church, Columbia St., Fall River. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery, Stafford Rd., Fall River. Calling hours Monday 4-8 p.m.
