Jose M. Homen

Jose M. Homen, 76, of South Main St., Fall River, died Monday at St. Anne's Hospital. He was the husband of Margarida (Carvalho) Homen.
Born in Sao Antonio alem Capelas, St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Antonio Viveiros Homen and Celia (Machado) Homen; he emigrated to this country in 1974 and was a member of Santo Christo Church. Mr. Homen worked as a bartender for over 20 years at the Santo Christo Club in Fall River. He previously worked as a laborer in the construction industry and for Pearson Yacht. He was a member of the Santo Christo Club.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Christina Homen of St. Michael, Azores; three sons, Joseph Homen and Bruno Homen, both of St. Michael, Azores and Jonathan Homen of Fall River; a brother, Aires Homen of Canada; 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held Monday at 8 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia Street, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in Santo Christo Church. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Calling hours Sunday 5-8 p.m.
