Jose V. Labao

Jose V. Labao, 73, of Fall River, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at Catholic Memorial Home in Fall River, surrounded by his friends and family.

    Born in Rabo de Peixe, São Miguel, Azores, he was a son of the late Antonio Labao and Maria Idalina (Melo) Labao.

    Prior to his retirement, Jose worked for the majority of his career as a carpet installer at the former Flint Floor Covering in Fall River. He found joy in simple pleasures and enjoyed watching television, going for walks, shopping, dining out, and was an avid soccer fan.

    He is survived by his sisters, Maria Idalina Furtado and Beatriz Mota, both of Canada, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Antonio, Manuel, and Antero.

    A visitation will be held Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM at the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St., Fall River. His Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 AM at Espirito Santo Church, Alden Street, Fall River. Entombment in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
