Jose Medeiros, Jr.

SWANSEA... Jose Medeiros, Jr., 79, of Swansea passed away Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River.

He was the husband of Maria H. (Furnas) Medeiros of Swansea.

Born in Capelas, St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Jose and Isabel (Souza) Medeiros.

Mr. Medeiros was a communicant of Santo Christo Church, Fall River and had worked for 30 years as a Landscaper for Phil Mastroianni Landscaping of Newton, MA. He enjoyed fishing and farming.

Along with his wife, survivors include his sons: John A. Medeiros of Swansea, Jose D. Medeiros of Berkley & Dimas Medeiros of Westport; his daughters: Lorena Botelho of Dartmouth, Helen I. Medeiros of Swansea & Susana Medeiros of Fall River; his siblings: Afonso Medeiros of Fall River, Joao Medeiros of Somerset, Amorim Medeiros of Fall River, Dimas Medeiros of Fall River, Duarte Medeiros of Bridgeport, CT, Bento Medeiros of Dighton & Louisa Botelho of Fall River; 9 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Wednesday at 8 AM from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St. Fall River, MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 AM at Santo Christo Church, Columbia St. Fall River. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hour will be held Tuesday from 5-8 PM.
