Jose Rebelo Santos

Jose Rebelo Santos, 73, of Fall River, a retired carpenter and devoted family man, died Sunday after a brief illness. He was the husband of Leonor (Cruz) Santos.

Born in Furnas, St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Jose and Maria Catrina (Rebelo) Santos, he emigrated to this country in 1967 and was a member of Santo Christo Parish. Mr. Santos was a carpenter for many years last employed by TPI.

Besides his loving wife, he is survived by a loving daughter, Debra S. Medeiros (husband David) of Fall River; a loving granddaughter, Alyssa Medeiros; five sisters, Luisa Carvalho of Fall River, Joana Rodrigues of St. Michael, Azores, Stephanie Moniz, Stella Souza and Isabel Fernandes, all of Winnipeg, Manitoba; two brothers, John Santos and Carlos Santos, both of Winnipeg, Manitoba; and several nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held Saturday at 8:45 a.m. from the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 215 Columbia St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:45 a.m. in Santo Christo Church. Entombment in Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum. Calling hours Friday 5-9 p.m.
