Jose M. Sousa

Jose M. Sousa, age 63, of Fall River passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2017. Born in Santo Antonio alem Capelas, Azores, Jose immigrated to Fall River in 1976. Jose worked for many years at Lightolier before retiring. In his retirement he enjoyed fishing, recording music and spending time with his daughter. Jose is survived by his loving daughter, Monica Sousa. He is also survived by his sisters, Ana Revoredo (husband Henry), Loudres deSousa (husband Nicolas), Salome Freitas (husband David), his brothers John de Sousa and Mario de Sousa and several nieces and nephews. Jose is also brother of the late Carlos de Sousa. Besides his beloved daughter and siblings, he is also survived by his former spouse, Escolastica Sousa, several sister- in-laws, brother-in- laws, nieces and nephews. His funeral will be held Monday at 8a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia Street, Fall River, with a funeral mass at Santo Christo Church at 9am. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery, Fall River. Visitation, Sunday from 6pm to 8pm.
