Joseph L. "Leo" Berube, 90, formerly of Baker St., Fall River, died Wednesday June 4th at Catholic Memorial Home. He was the husband of the late Mary Frances (Machado) Berube.
Born in Fall River, MA, he was a son of the late Evariste and Alphonsine (Roy) Berube; he was a lifelong resident of Fall River. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran, serving during WW II. Mr. Berube worked as an electrician for Narrow Fabrix in Pawtucket. He also worked part-time at the former Our Lady of Health Credit Union as a teller and assistant treasurer.
He is survived by a sister, Anita St. Laurent of Fall River; three grandchildren, Brian (wife Finessa), Brett Ronald Berube and Samantha Lee Berube Gillen (husband Adam); two great-grandchildren, Sebastian and Hailey; and several nieces and nephews. He was father of the late Ronald Leo Berube and David Berube and the brother of the late Jeanne Blais, Betty Martel, Normand Berube and Terry Medeiros. Beloved by all, he was the best of us. He will be forever loved and remembered for his unconditional love, warmth and caring.
His funeral will be held Friday at 8 a.m. from the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 2064 South Main St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in St. Anne's Church. Committal prayers and interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Thursday 4-8 p.m.
