Joseph J. Mantez

Joseph J. Mantez, 98, of Fall River, Massachusetts, passed away on February 28, 2026.

    He was born in Fall River, and was the son of the late Antonio Mantez and Maria (Paiva) Mantez.

    Joseph served his country proudly as a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II. After his military service, he dedicated his career to the local garment manufacturing industry, working for many years as a presser at the former Stella Ann Frocks. Outside of his professional life, Joseph had a keen eye for hidden treasures, spending his free time visiting local flea markets and pursuing his passion for coin collecting.

    He is survived by his brother, Edward D. Mantez of Fall River, as well as his nephew Robert Mantez. He was preceded in death by his brothers Manuel J. Mantez, John J. Mantez, and Antone J. Mantez, and his sister Alicia Mantez.

    His visitation will be held Wednesday, March 4, 2026, from 9 - 9:40 AM from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia Street, Fall River.

    Funeral Mass will follow at 10 AM, at Santo Christo Church. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
